About the Book

Yoga in the Classroom

This lively, hands-on manual, full of yoga posture illustrations, individual, concise and accessible lessons on the postures, breathing techniques and relaxation/meditation techniques, grew out of Walsh's college graduate course: Teaching Self-Regulation to Improve Academic Performance and Interpersonal Relations: Yoga in the Classroom©. The tone is pragmatic, Walsh uses yoga's practical and scientific techniques to introduce the experienced and inexperienced alike to the age-old stress-management techniques of yoga.

The book is for every teacher, no matter whether they have studied yoga or not. The hope is that teachers will enjoy exploring yoga with their students. Yoga is an ancient practice, and we are all beginners at heart. It's one of those things in life that's a never-ending study. No one ever graduates, and the beat goes on...
